Welcome! I look forward to meeting you!
Parent coaching and advocacy for neurodivergent families.
Hello, I’m Beth Hammond, a neurodivergent parent coach and advocate for special education. I grew up in Burlington, Vermont, and earned my bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University. Beginning at a young age, I spent a great deal of time volunteering at rural and inner-city community centers and schools, working with children and families from diverse backgrounds. These experiences ignited my passion for ensuring no child feels lost or ashamed because they think differently. In fact, these differences are often strengths that shine brighter once understood and supported.
Too often, children with invisible disorders, such as ADHD and learning disabilities, are not diagnosed until they are struggling socially, emotionally, and/or academically. As time goes on, this lack of awareness can lead to a great deal of shame and hopelessness and leave parents feeling alone and overwhelmed.
After years of supporting family, friends, and students, I founded Uplift Advocacy to provide parent coaching, support groups, and guidance navigating the 504 and IEP process. By increasing awareness, challenging common misconceptions, and bridging the gap between families and schools, I help parents create their own path to ensure their child is supported, and parents themselves feel informed and confident as their child’s strongest advocate.
Behavior is a language and once understood, it changes everything. I look forward to working with you!
